Acceptable use policy
Last updated 27 October 2026
This policy keeps texts welcome and keeps Pingwell's connections to the mobile networks in good standing. It applies to everything sent from your account, through the dashboard or the API.
Only text people who said yes
- Marketing texts need the person's consent, or must meet the “soft opt-in” rules for your own existing customers.
- Keep a record of how and when each person agreed. Pingwell stores it with them.
- Don't use bought, rented or shared lists.
Say who you are and make stopping easy
- Send from a sender name that belongs to your business.
- Every marketing text must include a free way to opt out.
- Once someone opts out, don't text them marketing again.
- Pingwell holds marketing texts between 8pm and 8am UK time until the morning.
What you can't send
- Anything illegal, or that promotes illegal goods or services.
- Phishing, scams, or texts pretending to be another business or person.
- Misleading offers, or links that hide where they go.
- Hateful, threatening or harassing messages.
- Adult content.
- Gambling, payday and other high-cost loans, debt collection, crypto-asset investments, CBD and vapes. If you're not sure whether your business is allowed, ask us first.
Don't work around our checks
Don't share your account with other businesses, resell Pingwell without our agreement, or try to get around sending limits, sender checks or opt-outs.
What we do about misuse
If we see signs of misuse, such as high opt-out or failure rates, we may pause sending while we look into it, ask you for proof of consent, remove sender names, or close your account. We may report unlawful sending to the authorities.
Reporting misuse
If you got a text through Pingwell that you think breaks this policy, tell us at terms@inteltree.co.uk with the sender name and the time you got it.
